Fresh salad greens sprinkled with carrots and jelly beans. Sounds delicious, right? Well, that's the first dish I ever prepared, and my mom (or so she tells me) happily ate it. While that may not have been my crowning glory of tasty dishes, I have been cooking creatively ever since. With no formal training in food, I learned the basics (and much more) spending afternoons in the kitchen with my mother and grandmothers, statistically dropping the viewing age of Graham Kerr’s The Galloping Gourmet, and studying cookbooks like it was my summer reading assignment. As I got older, I continued testing my own curiosities and began observing the way people around me connected with their food.
Fast forward 20+ years later, and I'm creating recipes professionally - ones definitely better than jelly beans on lettuce but hopefully with the same creative spark. I run my own blog and have several clients, including Bonnie Plants and Scott's Miracle-Gro. My services include recipe testing & development, food styling, food photography, and social media content development (Pinterest artwork, Instagram videos, etc). I also work with small farms and food-based businesses to create a well-designed digital presence to increase business and awareness about their farm or product.
